Picture someone who has been stirred up and cannot sit still: the voice goes faster and louder, the hands move, the body leans forward. The word describes the way an action is done, not the person. Notice that the stirring itself is neutral — English lets the same word cover being thrilled and being worked up; what tells you which one is the situation around it.
可以想成一個「被撩起來、坐不住」的人:講話變快變大聲,手在動,身體往前傾。excitedly 形容的是動作怎麼發生的,不是人怎麼樣。要注意的是,這個「被撩起」本身是中性的——同一個字既可以是高興到不行,也可以是心慌到靜不下來;分辨靠的是前後文,不是這個字本身。
