    The son of your son, or the son of your daughter. English uses the same word for both sides of the family, and it is said from the side: the boy is your grandson, and you are his grandfather or grandmother.

    grandson 就是你的孫輩裡的男生——你兒子的兒子，或你女兒的兒子，英文兩邊都用同一個字。grand- 可以想成家族樹上的「一層樓」：grandma、grandpa 是往上一層，grandson、granddaughter 就是往下一層，great-grandson 再往下一層。這個字是站在阿公阿嬤那邊講的：Leo 是林先生的 grandson，反過來林先生是 Leo 的 grandfather；同樣兩個人，看誰在說話就換一個字。不分男女、只說「孫子孫女」時用 grandchild。
