Picture a cover being lifted off. Two things follow at once: what was underneath can now be seen, and it can now be reached by whatever is out there. Every use of expose is one of those halves — sometimes the story is about being seen (a secret, a feeling, film meeting light), sometimes about having nothing in between (danger, new ideas).
