One way to hold it: the fact or amount of something being pushed out of its place — either people pushed out of where they lived, or water pushed aside by a ship.

「被擠出原位這件事，或被擠開的量」：displace 是動作，displacement 是這個動作的結果——有人被推離家園的那個狀態，或是船身把水推開的那個份量。同一個「擠開」的圖像，一邊落在人身上變成處境，一邊落在水上變成可以量的數字。
