Something that is doing, moving, working — not sitting still. Picture a body in motion or a mind hard at work: energy that is actually being spent, right now, on doing things.

可以想成「正在動、正在運作」的畫面，跟「靜止不動」相反。active 來自拉丁文 act-（做、行動），所以核心比較像「有在做事、有能量在使出來」。一個 active 的人身體或腦袋一直在動；一台 active 的機器正在運轉；一個 active 的火山隨時可能爆。所有用法都圍著同一個對比：是「正在出力、正在發生作用」，還是「停著、沒在動」？
