    The natural light that comes from the sun. It can fall straight onto something, or be blocked or let through by things like clouds, curtains, or leaves.

    sunlight 講的是「太陽送出來的那道光」本身——落在水面上、灑進教室、照到植物葉子上的那個東西。它可以想成一種會移動的東西：英文說 sunlight streams in（光湧進來）、filters through（光滲進來），所以 sunlight 前面常常配「有多少、被什麼擋住」的形容詞，例如 bright sunlight、direct sunlight（沒被擋住、直直照下來）。中文的「日光」比較書面（日光由水面反射出來），日常講話多半用「陽光」。
