    In a way that is unusual or surprising, and not what you expect. Often used when something also feels a little odd because you cannot easily explain it.

    strangely 是 strange 的副詞，講「以一種不尋常、跟預期不一樣的方式」。它有兩個很常見的位置，中文剛好會翻成不同的詞：放在動詞旁邊（act／behave／look at somebody strangely）是「怪怪的」，指某人的行為跟平常不一樣；放在形容詞前面（strangely quiet、strangely familiar）比較像中文的「出奇地」，重點是「居然是這樣，有點意外」。可以想成：說話的人心裡本來有一個「應該會怎樣」，strangely 就是在說「結果跟那個預期對不上」。

You can think of strangely as the moment your expectation and what actually happens do not line up. Something is off — you notice it, but you cannot name why.

「對不上」的那一瞬間：你心裡本來有個預設，事情卻長成另一個樣子，於是你停下來多看一眼。重點不在事情本身有多奇怪，而在你的反應——那種「咦？」的感覺，說得出哪裡不對勁，卻說不出為什麼會這樣。所以 strangely 常常帶著一點解釋不了的餘味，不像 badly 或 slowly 只是單純描述動作。
