Picture a gap being filled up to the line: someone wanted something, and now they have enough of it — no complaint left, and no more wanted. English then applies the same 'enough to close the gap' to doubts (enough proof, so the question is settled) and to rules (enough to clear the bar).

可以想成：一個空缺被填到那條線為止——對方本來想要什麼，現在拿到夠了：沒有抱怨，也不再想多要。英文把「填到夠」這個動作往外用：用在疑慮上，就是證據給得夠多，問題結案了；用在規定上，就是達到那條標準線。所以從「使滿意」到「符合標準」，講的都是同一件事——填到夠。
