You can picture 'production' as the act of bringing something into being — putting work in at one end and having a finished thing come out the other. From that one picture the word stretches to how much comes out, to what the body or nature brings forth, to the making of a show, and even to bringing a ticket out into view.

可以想成：production 就是「把東西生出來」這個動作——這頭投入工夫，那頭就有成品出來。從這個畫面出發，這個字延伸到「出來了多少」（產量）、身體或大自然「自然生出」的東西、做一齣戲或一部片，甚至延伸到把票「拿出來」給人看。
