A very small gap. Sometimes it is the gap between you and disaster — you got through, but only just. Sometimes it is the width of the opening you are looking through — you see clearly, but you see very little.
一道很窄的縫。窄有兩種讀法，narrowly 兩個意思剛好各佔一邊。一種是「縫窄到差一點就過不去」——你確實過了，但只差那麼一點就不是這個結局；另一種是「你透過這道窄縫在看」——看得很清楚，但看到的範圍很小。同樣是 narrow，前者量的是差距，後者量的是視野。
