    accuse 是「把話說出口，指名某人做了壞事或犯了法」。它可以很正式（法庭、新聞裡的指控），也可以很日常（你說是我吃掉最後一塊蛋糕）。句型幾乎是固定的：accuse somebody of something／of doing something，介系詞只有 of，後面的動作一定變成 V-ing。可以想成：accuse 的拉丁字根跟「案子」有關，就像把一個人叫到前面來，要他為某一件事交代——所以用 of 帶出「是為了哪一件事」。跟 blame 容易搞混：blame 是「這件壞事是你造成的」，accuse 是「我認為就是你做的」，而且常常在還沒有證據的時候就說出口了。
