Picture your mind stopping in front of something it cannot fully settle or explain — and there. From that one pause grow two directions: the quiet, thinking kind ('I keep turning this over, I'd like to know the answer') and the struck, kind ('this is so beautiful/strange I can hardly take it in'). Both are the mind held by something it can't quite grasp.
