One way to picture it: the situation has a shape, and you match it. Not right or wrong in the abstract — just fitting this particular occasion. A dark suit is suitably dressed for a funeral and badly wrong for the beach.
場合有它自己的形狀，而你正好跟它對得上。suitably 不是在說「對」或「好」這種絕對的判斷，而是說「跟這個場合合得起來」——同一套深色西裝，在告別式上是 suitably dressed，在海邊就完全不對了。suit 本來就是「合身、相配」，加上 -ly 變成副詞，描述你做某件事的方式跟當下的情境相稱。
