Picture someone whose good sense has slipped for a moment — they do something that just does not add up. That is silly. Which way the word leans depends entirely on tone: leaning hard it means ; leaning gently it means playful and ; used of a thing it means too small to matter; and pushed to the end of a phrase it becomes a measure of how far past sense you have gone.
