    Saying the opposite of what you really mean, either to make a joke that is not kind or to show that you are . It can describe a person, or the words, voice, or smile they use.

    「sarcastic」講的是「說反話」：嘴巴說出來的跟心裡想的剛好相反，用意是開一個不太友善的玩笑，或是表達不高興。可以想成：字面只是外殼，真正的意思藏在語氣裡——所以下大雨時說 “What lovely weather!”，聽的人是靠 tone（語氣）聽懂的，不是靠那個 lovely。它可以形容人（He's being sarcastic.），也可以形容話、語氣、笑容（a sarcastic remark／voice／smile）。跟 ironic 容易搞混：sarcastic 通常帶點刺、有個對象；ironic 只是「結果跟預期相反」，不一定針對誰。

You can picture someone saying the nice-sounding thing while clearly meaning the opposite — 'Oh, great job.' The words say one thing, the voice and the face say another, and the listener is meant to hear the gap. The gap is the point: it can land as a joke with a sting, or as a way of showing you are without saying so directly.
