Picture and formally asking someone for something — putting in a 'please may I have / would you do'. The noun is that act of asking (or the thing asked), and even the radio 'request' is just a song someone has asked for.

可以想成：客氣、正式地向某人開口要一樣東西，或請對方做一件事——一種有禮貌的「能不能麻煩您…」。名詞就是這個「請求的動作」或被請求的東西；連廣播裡的『點播』，也不過是聽眾客氣地請電台播的那首歌。
