Picture a door closing with no plan to open it again: the state has changed over, and nothing is expected to change back. It does not always mean literally forever — what it carries is that no one intends to undo it. That is why 'permanently closed' differs from 'closed for now' not in length of time but in whether a way back is being kept. It lives as the opposite of 'temporarily'.

permanently 可以想成「門關上之後就不再打開」的那種改變：狀態換過去了，而且沒有預計要換回來。它不一定真的指「永遠」，重點在說話的人不打算讓它復原——所以 permanently closed（永久歇業）跟 closed for now（暫時不開）差的不是時間長短，是有沒有留回頭的路。它天生就是 temporarily 的對面。
