From the word’s history

From Latin 'perficere' = per- (through, completely) + facere (to do/make): literally 'to make all the way through, to finish completely'. The flawlessness sense follows from the idea of something fully done.

源自拉丁文 perficere：per-（徹底、貫穿）＋ facere（做、製造），字面就是「徹底做完、貫穿到底」。正因為一件事被做到完全做完，才談得上「無瑕」——所以「完成」是根，「完美」是果。
