Picture taking something and pushing it down to the smallest it can be. Sometimes you shrink the thing itself — the risk, the cost, the damage. Sometimes you only shrink how big it looks to other people, while the thing stays exactly as it was. And on a screen, you shrink the window without closing it. Same move, three different targets.

可以想成：把一樣東西壓到不能再小。有時候你縮的是東西本身——風險、成本、損害真的變少了；有時候你縮的只是它「看起來」的大小，事情本身一點沒變，那就是輕描淡寫；在螢幕上，你把視窗縮到最小但沒關掉。同一個動作，差別只在你縮的是什麼。
