Picture someone standing their ground and saying it again — and the second time matters more than the first, because it means the pushback did not move them. That under pressure is the word. Sometimes what is repeated is a claim (it IS true), sometimes a demand (it MUST happen), and sometimes it is not words at all but a habit the person will not drop.
