You can picture informal as the everyday side of things, where nobody is checking whether you did it the proper way: no fixed order, no set phrases, no dress code. It does not mean careless — it means the rules that would apply on a formal occasion have simply been put aside.
可以想成 informal 是「日常的那一邊」：沒有人在檢查你有沒有照規矩來，不用照固定流程、不用講固定的話、不用穿固定的衣服。它不等於隨便或亂來，只是把正式場合那一套先放到旁邊而已。
