Latin imitatio comes from imitari 'to copy, to follow the likeness of', related to imago 'image' — so the word carries 'making after an image' from the start.
拉丁文 imitatio 來自動詞 imitari（模仿、追隨某物的樣子），和 imago（形象、影像）同源。所以這個字從一開始就帶著「照著一個影像做出來」的意思——這正好對上現在的核心畫面：先有原本，再有跟著它做出來的那一個。
