    The way the letters look when someone with a pen or pencil. Each person's handwriting is a little different, so you can often tell who wrote something just by looking at it.

    handwriting 講的不是「你寫了什麼」，而是「你的字長什麼樣子」——好不好認、工不工整、是誰的手寫的。可以想成 hand（手）＋ writing（寫出來的東西）合起來的畫面：用手寫出來的那個樣子。它不可數，所以說 neat handwriting、his handwriting is small，不說 a handwriting 或 handwritings，動詞也跟著用單數（Your handwriting is very neat.）。中文平常會說「你的字很漂亮」，英文這句話裡的「字」就是 handwriting。

Think of it as the shape your own hand leaves on paper: the same letters as everyone else's, but bent, slanted and joined the way only your hand does it — close to a made of ink.
