A fixed recipe: follow these parts in this order and you get the same result every time. Sometimes it is written in numbers and letters, sometimes in ingredients and quantities, sometimes it is just the pattern behind a successful film. Its strength — reliable — is also why it can turn into a complaint: words repeated so often they stop meaning anything.
