A fanzine is a small magazine made by fans, for fans — of a band, a team, a TV show, or a kind of story. It is not the official paper from the star or the club. Early fanzines were typed, copied, and posted to other fans; later ones were photocopied; now many live online, but people still say fanzine for that homemade, inside-the-group feeling. The idea took off with science-fiction fans. Though actually, fans often the word even more, to zine.
