You can think of aware as a kind of inner light that is switched on toward something: your senses or your mind have 'caught' it and it is now registering. Most basic is the raw version — you feel the cold, hear the noise, smell the smoke — something has reached you and you know it is there.
可以想成「心裡有一盞燈，朝著某件事亮著」——這件事已經被你的感官或腦子「接收」到了，正在你心裡登記著。最素樸的版本就是：你感覺到冷、聽到聲音、聞到煙味，某個東西已經傳到你這裡，你知道它在那裡。從這個「接收到、亮著」的畫面，往上可以延伸成「知道某事為真」，再延伸成「對周遭瞭如指掌、隨時留意」。
