Think of one short, high, thin sound — a tight wire flicked, a string snapping back, something small rushing past your ear. The packet's Wiktionary entry records only this, for all three parts of speech: of onomatopoeic origin. The word is a copy of the noise, which is why the sound sense is the centre rather than one of the figurative ones.
