    正式Ill, especially for a short time and not in a serious way — for example when you have a headache, a fever, or a cold.

    逐字美星期一待在家，因為她感覺身體不適。

    unwell 說的是「這陣子人不舒服」——通常不嚴重，過幾天就好了，像感冒、頭痛、發燒。它可以想成 well（身體好好的）前面加上 un-，就像在說「現在不在平常那個好好的狀態」，所以聽起來是暫時的，之後會回到 well。跟 ill、sick 意思一樣，但 unwell 客氣、正式很多，常出現在通知、公告、寫信請假的時候；日常聊天台灣學生更常聽到的是 not well 或 sick。

可以想成身體暫時離開了 well（好好的）那個狀態：頭痛、發燒、感冒，人還在，只是這幾天運轉得不太順。它指的通常是短時間、不嚴重的不舒服，不是重病；不舒服的程度停在「今天沒辦法照常做事」這一層。
