Unfavorable describes something that is not good for you, or a negative opinion. Weather, conditions, or exchange rates can be 'unfavorable' when they work against you rather than helping you. A review, comparison, or impression can also be 'unfavorable' when it is critical or makes something look bad. It's a fairly formal, neutral word — you'll see it a lot in news, business, and weather reports.
