The plain number 2 — a pair: one thing plus one more thing, the smallest 'more than one'. Almost every other use is this little pair lit up in a new place: two people, two sides, two choices.

可以想成最樸素的數字「2」，也就是「一對」：一個再加一個，是「不只一個」裡最小的那一步。後面那些片語幾乎都是這個「兩」被搬到不同情境裡發光——兩個人、兩面、兩種選擇。
