The side of a record that does not have the main song on it. This use is old-fashioned, from the years when music came on discs you had to turn over by hand.

You can think of flip side as a record lying on a table. One face has the song everybody knows; you pick the disc up, turn it over, and there is a second face that was there the whole time. That is the picture the words carry into everything else: not a different thing, the same thing with its other face showing.
flip side 的核心畫面可以想成一張放在桌上的唱片。正面是大家都知道的那首歌；你把它拿起來翻過去，背面還有一首，而且一直都在。這幅畫面被帶進其他用法裡：不是換了一件事，而是同一件事把另一面轉過來給你看。
