the top part of your leg, between your knee and your hip. It is the thickest part of the leg and holds your strongest leg muscles.

Run your hand up your own leg: past the knee, the leg gets thick and solid before it meets your hip. That thick upper section is the thigh — the part that does the work when you stand up, climb , or push a bicycle uphill.
