Swine is an old-fashioned, formal word for pigs — you'll see it in older writing, farming contexts, or scientific names like "swine flu." Very few people use "swine" to talk about real pigs in everyday speech anymore; "pig" is the normal word. But "swine" survives strongly as an insult: calling a person "a swine" means they behaved in a cruel, selfish, or disgusting way. This insult sense feels old-fashioned and a bit theatrical too — more like an old film than something a friend would say today.
