Used about an object, especially a metal one, that has had a lot of pressure, weight, or force put on it.
受力的；承受應力的
A useful picture is a steel beam with a heavy load pressing down on it. The beam has not broken, but it is bearing force all the time, and it is no longer slack — every part of it is pulled tight. That is a 'stressed' beam. The everyday use of the word puts a person where the beam is: still holding, but under constant load and unable to go slack.
可以想成一根鋼樑上面壓著重物。它沒有斷，但它整根都在受力，而且再也放鬆不下來——每一寸都被拉緊。這就是 stressed 的鋼樑。日常在講人的時候，等於把人放到鋼樑的位置：還撐得住，可是身上一直壓著重量，鬆不下來。
