Think of everything around something changing or leaving, while this one thing simply stays put and stays as it was. remain is the act of NOT moving and NOT changing while the rest of the world shifts.

可以想成：周圍的一切都在變、都在離開，唯獨這一個東西原地不動、維持原樣。remain 的核心畫面比較像「別的都走了／都變了，它還在那裡、還是老樣子」——重點不在於做了什麼，而在於沒有跟著改變、沒有跟著離開。
