To put a group of things in a different place or a different order from the one they were in before.
重新排列；重新擺放
Picture the same set of things - the same chairs, the same books, the same week of meetings - and someone moving them into different positions. Nothing is added and nothing is thrown away; only the arrangement changes. That is the whole of rearrange, and it is also why it can carry a quiet sting: moving things around is not the same as fixing anything.
可以想成 rearrange 的畫面是：同一批東西——同樣那些椅子、同樣那些書、同一週的行程——被人挪到不同的位置。沒有多出什麼，也沒有丟掉什麼，變的只有擺法。這個字的意思就這麼多；也正因為只是換位置，它有時候會帶一點刺——挪來挪去，跟真的解決問題是兩回事。
