Think of the moment your stomach turns over and you pull your head away without deciding to. A lid comes off a bin, and your whole body says no before you have had time to think. Nauseating names whatever causes that moment.
可以想成胃翻了一下、頭自己別開的那一瞬間。垃圾桶蓋一掀，身體已經先說不了，腦袋根本還來不及想。nauseating 指的就是「造成那一瞬間的東西」。兩個用法都繞著這個畫面走：一個是真的發生在胃裡，一個是同樣的反應被拿來形容心裡的感覺。
