- 1守法的
Used of a person, or sometimes a whole community, who respects the law and follows it. A law-abiding citizen is the ordinary, well-behaved person that newspapers set against criminals. It is a slightly formal, phrase — politicians and news reports love it. You do not usually say it about one single action (“that was law-abiding”); you say it about someone’s character or way of living. Though actually, nobody is perfectly law-abiding in every tiny rule, but the word still paints someone as decent and not a trouble-maker.
