A group of ordinary people, often twelve, who listen to a court case and decide if someone is guilty.
陪審團
Picture a row of ordinary people sitting to one side, listening to everything and then deciding. They are not experts and they did not choose to be there; the point is that the decision is handed to a group of ordinary people rather than to one authority. Move that panel from a courtroom to a competition and the word travels with it.
