Picture a finger pointing away from where you are standing: from here, outward. In modern English that 'from here' is almost always about reasoning — from this fact, therefore that. The old use pointing forward in time survives only in a fixed pattern.

可以想成：一根手指從你站的地方往外指——「從這裡出發」。在現代英文裡，這個「從這裡」幾乎都是講推理：從這個事實出發，所以得到那個結論。至於指向未來時間的老用法，現在只留在一個固定句型裡。
