You can think of heated as heat that someone put there. Not the sun, not the weather — a heater under the floor, an element in the pool. Something is feeding warmth into the thing. Hold that picture and the second use follows easily: a room of people talking can warm up the same way, until the temperature of the conversation itself is what you notice.
heated 可以想成「熱是被送進來的」。不是太陽曬的，也不是天氣熱，而是地板下有暖氣、池底有加熱器，有東西在持續供熱。抓住這個畫面，第二個用法就好懂了：一群人講話的場子也會這樣升溫，你注意到的不再是誰講了什麼，而是整個場子的溫度。從水溫到氣氛，用的是同一個畫面。
