You can think of 'has' as the shape 'have' takes when the owner is a single 'he', 'she', or 'it'. The idea of holding or possessing stays the same; only the ending changes to match a one-person, third-person subject. The same form also helps build the present perfect — she has finished — where 'has' carries the 'already done' weight.

可以想成「has」是「have」在主詞是單一的 he、she、it 時所變的樣子。「擁有、持有」的意思沒變，只是字尾換了，去配合第三人稱單數的主詞。同一個 has 也用來組成現在完成式——she has finished（她已經完成了）——這時 has 扛起「已經做完」的語氣。
