A glossary is a little list of special words, with a short explanation for each one, often at the end of a book (sometimes the front). Science books, law books, and textbooks love them, because they use words beginners do not know yet. It is not a full dictionary — only the words from that book or that subject. The idea is that you should not have to leave the page to look them up. Though actually, a glossary can also live on a website or in a course ; the job is the same: our words, explained in easy ones.
