One way to picture frequency: you mark a length of time on a line and count the ticks inside it. Three buses an hour, two headaches a week, four hundred a second — the word is always that count, sitting inside a fixed stretch of time.

可以想成 frequency 是「畫一段時間，數裡面有幾格」：一小時三班公車、一週兩次頭痛、一秒鐘四百次的震動。這個字講的永遠是那個數量，而且一定要放在一段固定的時間裡才有意義。
