  1. 1復發；再次發生（疾病常用「復發」）

    A recurrence is one more time that something happens after it has already happened. It is the event of coming back, not the habit of coming back. Doctors use it a lot: a recurrence of cancer means the illness has returned after a quiet period. You can also have a recurrence of an old argument, a leak, or a bad dream. The word is a little formal. In everyday talk people often say it happened again or it came back. Recurrence does not by itself say the thing is good or bad, but in real life we mostly use it for troubles we hoped had finished.
