How well you can see with your eyes. You use this word to say that someone sees clearly, or that their seeing is getting weaker, or when a doctor checks how well they see.

「eyesight」講的是「眼睛看得好不好」，所以前面幾乎都會帶一個形容詞：good eyesight（視力好）、poor eyesight（視力不好）、keen eyesight（很銳利，看得又遠又清楚）。它是不可數名詞，不說 an eyesight，也沒有 eyesights。跟兩個鄰居很容易搞混：sight 是「有沒有看得見這個能力」，eyesight 是「看得多清楚」，vision 則多用在眼前的畫面本身，例如受傷或不舒服時 my vision was blurred（視線模糊）。這個字可以想成就是 eye ＋ sight 合起來——眼睛給你的那份視覺，所以永遠在講「這份視覺好不好用」。
