Latin ēlūdō is built from ē- ('out of', the short form of ex-) plus lūdō ('to play; to trick'). That is a getting-out done by playing rather than by force, which matches the way the modern word almost always means slipping aside, not breaking through.
拉丁文 ēlūdō 由 ē-（出來，ex- 的短形）加 lūdō（玩、耍花招）組成，字面上像「用花招玩出去」。這正好對上今天 elude 的感覺：靠的是巧勁與角度，不是硬碰硬。
