A dweller is a person or an animal that lives in a particular place. English likes it stuck to a place-word: city-dweller, cave-dweller, forest-dweller. Alone, dweller sounds a bit like a textbook. People more often say residents, or they just name the animal. You use dweller when the place is the point — this is who or what belongs there.
