From Old French 'desveloper', to unwrap/unfold (des- 'un-' + a root meaning to wrap). The modern 'grow/unfold' sense keeps this image of something wrapped-up opening out.

源自古法文 desveloper，意為「解開、攤開（包裹）」（des-『去除』＋『包裹』之意）。現代『發展、成長』的意思正保留了這個畫面：原本捲著、包著的東西，一點一點攤展開來。
