A very small dark fruit, no bigger than the tip of a finger, that comes in bunches. Dry it and it goes into a cake; leave it on the bush and it stays sharp enough to need sugar.

Borrowed from French raisin de Corinthe, literally 'grape of Corinth', the Greek city these tiny dried grapes were shipped from. The word is a doublet of Corinth; Dutch krent is a cognate.
